The Round End Grain Block is the cutting board of my dreams. Aesthetically speaking, it's geometric, solid, and when I look at it all feels right in the world. Functionally speaking, the benefits of using end grain are that you are actually cutting between the wood fibres, not across them, which splits them in half, thus lengthening it's life, and making it easy to clean and to keep clean.
The Round End Grain Blocks have been made using Swamp Kauri.
All boards have been hand made individually, therefore will all be slightly different in measurement. Boards measure between:
260 - 290mm Diameter
60 - 70mm in Height
PLEASE KEEP YOUR END GRAIN BLOCK OUT OF DIRECT SUNLIGHT AS THIS COULD EVENTUALLY LEAD TO THE BLOCKS SPLITTING APART.
Boards have been made for Courtney Petley by Fine Woodworker, Josephine Jelicich.
Goods are made from recycled and reclaimed New Zealand native timber.
All pieces are finished with food safe New Zealand made beeswax.
Each item is individually hand made, and is completely unique in form and grain. The piece you buy is one of a kind, therefore your purchase will vary slightly from the product image.
