Learn how to make a spoon!
In this one day class of 8, I will teach you my technique for carving a spoon using reclaimed native NZ timber. I will talk you through the properties of wood to help you carve more effectively, and together using a hook knife and a blade we will carve a spoon, your spoon will then be finished with sandpaper, and oiled with a New Zealand made beeswax.
There are three different shapes of spoon to choose from which will be in either Kauri, Rimu, or Totara. This class teaches spoon carving using reclaimed hardwood, not Greenwood, which is common for spoon carving.
