The spoon has been made using Tōtara piles. The Tōtara piles came out of a railway shed in Morrinsville that was built completely out of local Kauri (ex. the Tōtara) in the late 1800's.
The fork has been made using Kauri veranda posts. The Kauri came from an old bungalow undergoing renovations in Devonport.
(Please note in-situ photos are of full Kauri servers, for Tōtara and Kauri timber used please reference the main image)
