MEET COURTNEY PETLEY

Courtney Petley is a self-taught woodworker based in Auckland, New Zealand, who found her passion for woodworking in 2015. Originally from the Fashion Industry, Courtney began her wood carving journey with an axe, a knife, an old piece of Rimu floorboard, and on winters evening carved her very first kitchen utensil. What started as a a hobby quickly get into a full-fledge business by 2017, where she expanded her craft beyond kitchen utensils to include chopping boards, home decor, lighting, and sculptural objects.

Each piece Courtney creates is handmade with care, reflecting her evolving style, appreciation for functional design, and a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of reclaimed native New Zealand timbers. She is also passionate about sharing her skills, offering spoon making classes for those eager to learn the craft.

Whether you’re interested in a custom piece, one-on-one tuition, or just want to chat about all things woodworking, Courtney is always happy to hear from fellow enthusiasts.
