Candle Holders / Ellen J Hemmings

This project was the beginning of a move to introduce functional objects for the home to my range, and to sit alongside my utensils. It was a mini exploration into manipulation and opposites of one particular shape, and how this shape could host a series of a consecutive number of candles from one to four. I was interested in too, how the candles instantly changed and added to the design, and elongate the shapes. I was lucky enough to have Ellen J Hemmings style and photograph the holders, she brought them to life in her very own quietly beautiful, and thoughtful way.
