I love how the variations of Swamp Kauri in this board give it a real patch-work type look, so subtle but each block incredibly unique. Medium in size but still plenty of room for cutting.
A solid and chunky block that will last you a lifetime!

End Grain boards are durable, the orientation of the fibres mean the timber is less resistant to wear and tear. The upright fibres absorb the impact of knives which helps to preserve the surface of the board, and keep your knives sharper for longer. End grain also has a better resistance to moisture compared to long grain boards.
End grain refers to the exposed ends of wood fibers in a piece of timber. When a tree is cut into boards or planks, the end grain is the surface that is perpendicular to the growth rings of the tree. This surface shows the natural pattern of the wood fibers and can have a distinctive appearance compared to the long grain of the wood.
End Grain Chopping Boards have been finished using the Spoon Oil, a mix of coconut oil, mineral oil, beeswax, and vitamin E, then with a second layer of beeswax.
To care for your end grain cutting board wash in warm soapy water, and please do not put your end grain board in the dishwasher. To maintain your board do not leave soaking in water, keep out of direct sunlight, and if you would like to refresh your finish overtime you can use a beeswax or a coconut oil.
