Learn to Carve a Wooden Spoon by Hand
Join me in my light-filled Grey Lynn studio for a hands-on spoon carving workshop. In this one-day class, you'll learn traditional hand-tool techniques to carve your own beautiful wooden spoon using reclaimed native New Zealand timber.
What You'll Learn
I'll guide you through my spoon carving technique using a hook knife and carving blade. You'll learn about wood properties to carve more effectively, shape your spoon from a pre-cut blank, finish it with sandpaper, and oil it with New Zealand-made beeswax. You'll take home a finished, ready-to-use spoon.
Who Can Attend
All skill levels welcome! Over the past five years, I've taught 400+ people aged 10-80 how to make a spoon. Absolutely no experience needed - anyone can make a spoon with my guidance.
