About Swamp Kauri Timber
Swamp Kauri is an ancient New Zealand timber, preserved underground for thousands of years before being carefully recovered. This rare timber is prized for its stunning grain patterns, rich golden-brown hues, and remarkable stability. The distinctive medullary rays create beautiful natural variation across the surface. Each piece tells a story spanning millennia, making your board a truly unique heirloom piece. Its exceptional hardness and natural oils make it ideal for kitchen use.

Why End Grain?
End grain boards are gentler on knives than long-grain boards. The vertical fibre orientation allows knife blades to slip between fibres rather than cutting across them, keeping your knives sharper for longer. This construction is naturally durable, designed for daily heavy use, and can be resurfaced over time to extend its lifespan.
